Learning to paint is learning to see. The job of the artist is to look deeply, to study things closely, and to try and communicate something of that experience. These workshops focus on painting outdoors with a strong emphasis on developing visual acuity. As artists, what interests us and what are we trying to communicate to the world? The basics of painting are employed to strengthen each artist’s individual voice, including process, design, color, and composition. The first day of the workshop begins with an introduction and discussion of materials and techniques followed by demos and individual painting. Instructor will provide any necessary maps, hotel recommendations, and more info upon registration.
All workshops are designed to benefit painters of any level, whether you’ve never painted outdoors before or paint professionally.
Accommodations, transportation, food, and art supplies are the responsibility of the student.
Class sizes are kept small and are filled on a first come first served basis, often filling up months ahead of time. For more info and to reserve your spot, click the button under your workshop. (If full you will be added to a waiting list.)
